The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and Other Stories

Heroes of the works by American writer F. Scott Fitzgerald (1896—1940) strive for instantaneous joy: to boom and live, to live here and now until they are young and until the world still smiles at them. The proposed collection comprises a series of stories which also reflect the spirit of the time, but the writer focuses his attention on the other aspects of life. Behind the frantic rhythm of events, evening and dancing parties, rough-and-tumble dates he managed to uncover the subtlest nuances of human relations, to show emotional experiences, frames of mind and psychological state of his contemporaries. The author does not express his opinion on his heroes — he only describes their deeds which makes his writings so much the more interesting and convincing. Poetic manner and deep psychologism of the narration even today move the readers and evoke special emotional yearning in their souls.
